With their respective Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) regular season's coming to a close St. Croix Legacy traveled to face Salvo SC indoors on an otherwise sweltering Minnesota July Wednesday. Salvo SC jumped out to an early lead in the 6th minute behind Davy Mokelke's first goal of the night. The goal didn't rattle St. Croix. Just three minutes later, Sydney Sunderland found the back of the net to equalize the match. Leighton Rogers scored in first half stoppage time to return Salvo's lead. Mokelke scored again for Salvo to extend their lead to 3-1 shortly after the break. As in the first half, St. Croix responded quickly. A Jaidyn Richter goal for Legacy cut Salvo's lead back to one. Davy Mokelke's hattrick completing goal in the returned the lead to two goals. The match finished 4-2 in Salvo's favor. PJ Ryan was there for Northland capturing all the action. Enjoy!
