Another nailbiting non-league weekend in England. Every game kicked off at 2pm UK time, unless noted.
Hull City hosted Burnley, and Stoke played Wolves at the top of the FA Women's National League Northern Premier, with the visiting teams fighting to avoid the playoff. Both completed their mission, with Burnley putting 7 past Hull and Wolves winning 3-1. Halifax v Loughborough Lightning was a relegation 6-pointer but ended in a 1-1 draw, and Sporting Khalsa v Middlesbrough at the bottom saw the hosts try to climb out of the basement, but they lost to the visiting Smoggies 2-1.
In the South, AFC Bournemouth played Real Bedford at the top, and AFC Wimbledon v Exeter City at the bottom, with both hosts hoping to gain ground in their own battles. The Pirates of Bedford won their game 2-1 and the Dons won 2-0.
In the Division 1 North, Leeds United played Stockton and Norton Ancients, with the team from West Yorkshire failing to put space between themselves and the chasing Huddersfield Town (9-0 winners) and Cheadle Town Stingers (6-0 winners), who faced relegation battlers Blackburn Rovers and York City, respectively. Leeds could only muster a 2-1 home loss.
Chester le Street v Stockport County finished 3-3, and Wythenshawe v Doncaster Rovers Belles finished 2-1 to the Manchester side, both factored into the relegation race.
Kidderminster v Peterborough and Stourbridge v Boldmere St Michaels saw promotion contenders face relegation-threatened clubs on the road. Both visitors were winners, and Peterborough secured the Division One Midlands title. Leafield Athletic had a late(r) kick off of 3 pm as they attempted to stay in second versus Lincoln United, convincingly won 6-1 by the hosts. Sheffield FC v Sutton Coldfield Town and Barnsley v Notts County would also change the calculus in the drop zone but both finished in draws.
I hate to say this, but there is no peril or tension in Division 1 South East, which has already been won by Watford, with Norwich City firmly in place for the playoff. Sadly, AFC Sudbury and Chesham United are well adrift of safety.
Marine Academy hosted Moneyfields, and Swindon Town played Portishead Town at the top of Division 1 South West as Moneyfields and Swindon fight to avoid the playoff, but both teams won, holding their league positions. They play each other in their last game of the season in two weekend's time, with the winner going straight up and the loser into the playoff.
Keynsham Town played host to a relegation-threatened Worthing squad and won 2-1.
