Manitou FC 2 vs 2 Rochester United FC
The home side got goals from Sarah Strating and Madison Monson, answered by tallies from Tessa Anderson.
MapleBrook Fury 2 vs 3 Minnesota Thunder
Thunder took the lead after an attack down the left, finished by Paige Peltier and then it was 2–0 after neat interplay down the right, a low ball skimmed across the 6 yard box was put home by Paige Kalal.
There was strong pressure from the Fury through central balls, fed to the right wing, but it was Thunder who scored again, this time from a corner in the 70th minute, finished by Sophia Caballero. Nonetheless, the home side got on the scoreboard only two minutes later with a lightning counter down the right wing ends in a tap in at the near post by Clare Odmark. It was 3–2 in the 88th minute, after a right wing corner was headed back across by Odmark for her second. Despite a solid number of minutes of stoppage time, the home side could not complete the comeback.
Joy Athletic Club 0 vs 3 Salvo SC
Three goals in 7 minutes secure Salvo a victory despite going scoreless into the 59th minute. Sophie Boman opened the scoring with a PK. Khyah Harper picked up a double in the 62nd (a bullet header from a left wing cross) and 66th minutes (another left wing cross, bundled home from close range off the underside of the cross bar)
Cincinnati Sirens 3 vs 1 Dayton Dutch Lions
The opening half was all Sirens, but it was Dayton Dutch Lions who scored first, through Maya Ryder in the 40th minute, volleying in a long-ball down the middle of the defense.
It took Sirens until the 55th minute for them to break down the stubborn Dutch Lion defense, courtesy of a rough challenge in the area. Emily Byorth stepped up to put away the PK.
Mackenzie Kent headed in a last minute corner from the right to put the Sirens ahead. Christin Zwolski connected on a 1–2 in the area to make it 3–1 in stoppage time.
FC Pride 0 vs 1 Lady Victory FC
Anna Isger scored the decisive goal, fighting through pressure to lift LVFC to the top of the Ohio Valley’s Western Division.
Friday:
Bavarian United FC 1 vs 0 FC Milwaukee Torrent
Bavarian United opened the scoring in the 38th minute, with a shot placed past the keeper from just outside the area by Taylor Hattori. The win takes Bavarians top of the Lake Michigan division and spoils the perfect record of Torrent.
Dakota Fusion FC 1 vs 1 Manitou FC
On a hot day in Moorhead, there were hydration breaks every 15 minutes. The opening goal of the game came with 51 minutes on the clock as Fusion’s Olivia Watson set up Ava Kieser for the tap in. The equalizer came with 10 minutes left in the game, a hard free kick from 35 yards out by Allyson Hamski and despite Fusion having the majority of possession it would end as a draw.
Mankato United 2 vs 5 Minnesota Thunder
Mankato opened the scoring with a shocking shot-cross by Jenny Vetter with only 30 seconds on the clock. Thunder equalized in the 17th minute, after a 1–2 on the right hand side of the penalty area was finished off by Dara Andringa. Lily Gilbertson put the Thunder ahead in the 25th minute, with a rocket from outside of the area, through the goalkeeper Mackenzie Rath. Gilbertson then hit the crossbar again in the 35th minute. Vetter played playmaker and Nadia Lowery slotted it just past the goalkeeper in the 40th minute.
The second half also started with a bang, as Andrea Barth unleashed a shot from close to the touchline, past Rath’s far post in the 48th minute. Vetter had a solid chance around the hour mark, tipped acrobatically over the crossbar by Jordan Hecht for Thunder. Barth had a chance from a Gilbertson corner but the ball skimmed off her head, wide in the 78th minute. Vetter had an 80th minute chance on a break away, but sliced the ball wide on the run. Barth made it 4–2 in the 82nd minute, tapping home after a corner was headed down into the six yard box. Paige Peltier then scored number five with literally the last kick of the match.
FC Pride 0 vs 2 FC Dayton
Goals by Laney Huber and Lauren Bastian were enough to put FC Dayton back on top of the Ohio Valley’s Western Division.
Saturday:
Midwest Muskrats 0 vs 3 Chicago Dutch Lions
Morgan Fagan, Katharine Stephens and Meredith Phillips scored for the Dutch Lions as they took all three points for the second time this season.
Fire & Ice 8 vs 0 Quad Cities Rush
Mackenzie Litzsinger, Kayley Judy and Sarah Foley all scored braces and there were solo goals for Megan Loveland and Gracie English as F&I fired up in preparation for the match up with the Current.
Central Illinois United 1 vs 7 Kansas City Current II
Kansas City Current II took the lead in the 6th minute, with Lily Farkas hitting the target from 25 yards out.
There was a 15 minute spell in the middle of this game where CIU actually had a tie against the Current, as they equalized in the 23rd minute, but the steamroller regained its momentum and they added goals from Brie Severns, Olivia Garcia and Dilary Heredia Beltran made it 4–1 at the half.
It was 5–1 in the 56th minute as Beltran scored her second goal of the game. Amelia Horton made it six in the 68th minute and then seven in the 72nd minute.
Cincinnati Sirens 0 vs 1 Lady Victory FC
Sam Slimak provided the difference as Lady Victory reclaimed the topsy-turvy Ohio Valley Western lead.

Central Illinois United vs Iowa Raptors
Fire & Ice SC 0 vs 2 Kansas City Current II
The first match of these two unbeatens at the top of the Midwest’s Heartland Division took place in Belleville, IL and it was the new side who came out on top. The opening 15 minutes saw Fire & Ice with the majority of pressure, including a point-blank stop by Current’s Chelsea Wagner (a forward, nonetheless playing in goal) from Mara Keomanivane. Sarah Foley missed a golden chance for F & I , on the break with 19 on the clock, skewing the ball wide. Amelia Horton’s shot for Current was blocked in the 25th minute. With 30 mins played, Caroline Kelly broke away and her shot was only blocked into the path of Brie Severns, who scored the opener for KCC II. F & I put more pressure on the Current as the half wound down, but they could not break through.
Both teams had solid chances in the second half, and Fire & Ice’s Maddi Moon back-header against the left post from a deep free kick by Keomanivane was the strongest chance of sustained home team pressure.
It took until the 84th minute for Current to nail down the win, as Lily Farkas and Dilary Heredia Beltran exchanged passes before Farkas slotted it home.
Chicago Dutch Lions 1 vs 3 Bavarian United FC
Hailey Block’s shot to the keeper’s left in the 36th minute gave Bavarian United the lead and it was a slender but deserved 1–0 lead at the half. Rachel Dallet doubled the lead in the 56th minute. Abby Kalou halved the deficit in the 69th minute and Alex Campana put the seal on the win with Bavarians’ third of the match.
Chicago KICS 0 vs 2 FC Milwaukee Torrent
Goals from Mia Haertle and Jordyn Rolli lifted the Torrent over Chicago KICS on the road.
Mankato United SC 6 vs 2 Dakota Fusion FC
Another match in the heat, lead to hydration breaks every 15 minutes. Mankato broke through even though Fusion GK Amber Pyle blocked three attempts on goal, but conceded a fourth from Jenny Vetter on the rebound in the 4th minute. Allie Williams made it 2–0 from just inside the area across the goalkeeper, with a precisely placed shot after Mankato passed around the Fusion defense in the 11th minute. Despite Mankato dominance of possession, there were no more goals in the first half.
Abigail Rieff scored the first goal of the 2nd half in the 52nd minute after a ball down the center and a deflection off the heel of a defender set her up. Fusion cut the deficit to 3–1 in the 70th minute after a solo break by Mya Solberg. Unfortunately for the visitors, the roof fell in in the last ten minutes, beginning with Kenna Buisman rolling the ball past Pyle at walking pace. Caitlin Brown fired in number five, from outside the penalty area, wide left, inside the far post. Brown repeated the trick as stoppage time arrived. Morgan Valvo, who’s listed as a goalkeeper, scored a rocket into the top corner for 6–2.
Rochester United FC 0 vs 0 Sioux Falls City FC
A contest of Sioux Falls City in possession and Rochester dangerous on the counter attack, nonetheless ends goal-less — marking the first dropped points of the South Dakotans’ summer.
Manitou FC 0 vs 3 MapleBrook Fury
After a goal-less first half, the visitors broke the deadlock in the 46th minute when a cross from the right along the deck was slotted calmly home by Paige Goaley. A left wing corner led to a flying header at the back post by Clare Odmark for 2–0 after 66 minutes. The third goal came in the 85th minute from Cora Smith.
Minnesota Thunder 6 vs 1 Joy Athletic Club
Thunder took the lead in the 10th minute, as a ball bi-sected the centerbacks, for Paige Kalal to score. They had a shot deflected over the crossbar on 23. A cross in from the right, missed by a flying dive by the goalkeeper, led to a goal by Kaitlyn MacBean after 24. Joy had a chance on 35. It was 2–1 after a long diagonal from the right to the left, followed by a dribble and a shot blasted past the goalkeeper’s left hand by Megan Hansen with half time imminent. Thunder had a chance with 72 on the clock, a free kick from 20 yards out, was palmed onto the post. The woodwork once more saved Joy on 77 as Thunder hit the crossbar on 77. A minute later, it was 3–1 Thunder, as the ball was dribbled in from the left and absolutely hammered by Paige Peltier. A minute after that, an eerily similar setup led to Lily Gilbertson scoring Thunder’s 4th. MacBean scored her second and Thunder’s 5th goal after a mazy run down the left. The ball was volleyed home in the 4th minute of stoppage time by MacBean for her hat trick.
FC Dayton 4 vs 1 Lady Victory FC
It was Dayton who came out on top of this contest, and thus the Western Division of the Ohio Valley Conference. Diana Benigno, Ava Hall, Laney Huber and Audrey Steiert were the goal scorers for FCD. Nicoletta Anuci had the sole tally for LVFC.
Columbus Eagles 1 vs 0 Century United
Katie Cox scored a PK in the 38th minute to make the difference in a special match, seeing the Eagles host at the former home of Columbus Crew, now Historic Crew Stadium.
Dayton Dutch Lions 0 vs 3 FC Pride
Lizzie Chlystun, Mary McArdle and Tatum Coleman scored for Pride as they took the road win in West Carrolton.
