Sometimes all it takes is a single goal to decide a match. Tonight in Texas that was exactly the case as another Anthony Markanich goal was all that was needed for MNUFC to leave Frisco, TX with three points. The massive win extends the MLS winning streak to four and the unbeaten run to six match across all competitions.
Sticking with the same philosophy that brought the Loons their past few wins Cameron Knowles made no changes to the lineup from Saturday. This brings up a question of how much rotation will be seen when MNUFC hosts LAFC this weekend.

Things for Minnesota United did not start well as they were handed a card just five minutes into the match. That card was issued to Anthony Markanich after he ended up putting a boot to Herman Johansson's chest on a jumping challenge.
Just under 30 minutes later it was Markanich himself who scored the opening goal of the evening. Markanich scored on the second chance, after getting a rebound off a shot he had just sent towards goal. Minnesota took the 1-0 lead into the dressing room, with FC Dallas having struggled to get good chances in the opening half.

The second half started with another pair of yellow cards issued to each side within the first 10ish minutes. That brought the total of yellow's shown to two each inside 60 minutes of play. And this was during a match that was not really that chippy or foul ridden from the first whistle.
FC Dallas pushed hard for a second half goal, only getting more aggressive after a trio of subs in the 60th minute. Minnesota on the other hand laid themselves back focusing on their defensive effort. FCD had multiple chances before the final quarter hour struck, but were unable to put the shot on target. Those opportunities either missed wide or ended up clanking the post, keeping MNUFC in it.
As the half wore on getting into the final quarter hour, the Loons dropped almost fully to a back five and pulled everyone back behind the centre circle. Dallas continued to pepper the Loons and Drake Callender with shots and crosses, doing everything possible to get a goal. Minnesota however had pulled the defence in tight interrupting almost every cross FCD threw towards the box. The few chances that went towards Drake were easily saved by the Minnesota goalkeeper.
MNUFC now has another two matches to play in less than a week. First up is LAFC at Allianz Field this Saturday afternoon in more MLS play. On Tuesday it's back to the Open Cup and Cali as the Loons fly to San Jose for a Clash with the Earthquakes.
