D2 Match of the Week: Mavericks finish non-conference play with huge win(s)

Minnesota State closed their non-conference slate with two huge wins over ranked opponents.

Minnesota State had quite the weekend in Mankato both on and off the pitch. The Mavs Thursday match against Central Missouri had it's kickoff time moved up to due to the heat expected. However even that couldn't stop the match from being moved by a day as in the 23rd minute on Thursday the match was suspended until Friday. The following day the match picked up and MSU took a 1–0 win to take their second win of 2026.

Heading into the match #16 MSU (1-0-0) had dominated all three friendly matches and defeated Central Oklahoma the previous weekend. #10 Central Missouri Jennies had won both of their previous two matches heading into the Mankato showdown. Slightly over 20 minutes into the match the contest was suspended and moved to Friday, after already having been moved from a Thursday evening start.
