Coming off a win last week in Maine, Forward Madison returned home to Breese Stevens Field where they have not lost a match in USL1 play this season. Heading into the weekend Madison sat in 3rd place of the 17 club USL League One and hosted 2nd place and top offensive club Charlotte Independence. Madison's only loss in their home stadium came in the USL Cup against USL Championship side Detroit City and the Mingos intended to keep the home unbeaten run in the league going.

Keeping the unbeaten streak in the league going was something Madison accomplished, shutting down the top offence in USL League One. But not before Charlotte scored first in the 11th minute with their only shot on target of the entire match. The hosts scored just before the hour mark, the only goal they could muster in a night that saw the Flamingos take 21 shots and put nine on target.
“Proud of the boys for coming back and earning a point. We definitely felt like we could’ve taken all three, but we’re happy to keep the home streak going,” former MNUFC2 player and current Flamingo Roman Torres said following the match.

Madison at Richmond Kickers - Saturday at 6pm
Next up for the Flamingos is a trip back east, this time to Virginia to meet the Richmond Kickers. Richmond is one of the oldest and most storied lower division clubs in the US, but have struggled during the 2026 season. Kickers currently sit 16th with 19 points in 21 matches. The red and white have given up the second most goals in the league at 41 with a -21 goal differential. And while the Kickers are not eliminated from the playoffs, with 11 matches to go it would take a number of miracles for them to make the top eight in USL1.
