Midfielder Dominik Fitz is off to Austria on loan through the end of the European season in May of 2027. As first reported by Andy Greder and noted by us yesterday, Fitz will join ÖFB Bundesliga side Wolfsberger AC, with a permanent transfer possible following the end of the loan.
Fitz a native of Vienna, Austria joins WAC for the first time in his career. The 27 year old midfielder played played most of his career with fellow Austrian top flight side FK Austria Wien. He started playing with their academy side in 2006 before moving to the senior level in 2015. That year he made his debut for the Austria Wien second team and went on to debut for the first team in 2018. A highly touted midfielder, Fitz made over 200 appearances for Austria Wien and scored 54 goals for the Violets.
However the 27 year old has struggled since his move to Minnesota United, making nine appearances for a total of 231 minutes across all competitions. In 2026 Fitz has made only two first team appearances for a total 17 mins. Since September of last year Fitz has not played more than minutes in a single first team match.
While failing to register a goal or assist with the first team the Austrian has scored one goal and made on assist with MNUFC2. His assist came against Whitecaps 2 and his goal at Allianz Field against North Texas SC. Both of those appearances came in 2026, totaling 180 minutes with the Twoons in MLS Next Pro.
