Weekly WPSL Wrap Up: Salvo slips up

Salvo met Minnesota Thunder for the second week in a row and the result opened the way for an epic run-in between Salvo and St Croix Legacy

Thunder 1-0 Salvo

I try to avoid spotlighting the same game two weeks in a row, but Salvo and Thunder started so late that this pivotal rivalry matchup has happened in back to back weeks. Going into the match, Salvo were yet to drop a point, although nails were being bitten during the second half of their 2-1 victory over these same opponents last week. MTA finally caught up to their opponents this week, with Anya Van Den Einde scoring the game's only goal in the 32nd minute - finishing off an exchange of passes around the Salvo defense. In many ways, it was the defenses who starred - in particular, the goalkeepers (Brooke Goerisch for Thunder and Samantha Swidorski).
