It's been a while since the United States Men's National Team visited St. Paul for an international friendly, but that wait is almost over. For the first time in three years the Stars and Stripes return to Allianz Field this October and for the first time at the stadium will host the Canadian Men's National Team.
Last time the USMNT played in St. Paul was a 2023 friendly match with Oman that the US won handily by a final score of 4-0. In three matches in the Midway are of St. Paul the US men are unbeaten with three wins and no draws. The US Men also hold record against Les Rouges of 17-13-12 (W-D-L) with their last loss to our northern neighbours coming in the CONCACAF Nations League third place match in March of 2025.
During last years CONCACAF Gold Cup, US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis hosted a pair of matches featuring the USMNT and Canada. After drawing through 120 minutes the Canadians fell to Guatemala 6–5 on penalties in the first match of the day. In the second match the US drew 2–2 with Costa Rica through 120 minutes, before defeating them 4–3 on penalties.
We could also see the return of former Minnesota United goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair to Allianz Field for the first time since heading to Inter Miami. Though it must be said that DSC's last start was on 28 March in a friendly vs Iceland that the sides drew two-all. Kickoff for the Tuesday, 6 October match is set for 7pm and can be watched in English on TNT, truTV, and HBO Max, and in Spanish on Universo, and Peacock. Tickets go on sale to the general public on 7 August at 10am.
