Easily the biggest highlight of last week came when the Minnesota Golden Gophers took down #25 ranked Iowa on Thursday night in the Big Ten season opener. It was Minnesota's first win of the season against a ranked opponent and could be a great sign to come for the Gopher soccer program.

On the other side of the coin both MNUFC and St. Thomas lost matches, including the Loons now being on a multi-match losing skid. MNUFC2 is close to clinching a playoff spot, which could happen as early as Wednesday night.
