Minnesota United's season opener last weekend against Los Angeles FC didn't get off to the start the Loons were hoping for. More than a few shots off the post and or crossbar and a late LAFC winner disappointed the Minnesota faithful.

The clear winner of the match was goal frame, with the amount of stops it made on the evening. Minnesota did snag a total of 12 shots but only one went on target. This weekend hopes to be better as MNUFC has averaged two goals scored per game against the Impact and have scored at every Allianz Field home opener.

While LAFC has only hosted seven season openers in a row, that could still be viewed as criminal. They've also won all eight season openers, including their first season that began with a six match away swing. The fans don't like that and honestly who can blame them. Especially when Minnesota has never hosted a season opener at home since joining MLS in 2017. MNUFC are 4-4-1 (W-L-D) in season openers while being just 1-3-4 in their home openers.

While not perfect the performance did have plenty of positives to come from it. The new "convergence kit" is not getting the same reactions from the fan base. Personally our favourite is and always has been the good ole' loon wing. Please bring it back.

Starting the forward at right back definitely was a choice that was made. But you'll never know what works if you don't try it. And maybe this week the posts at Allianz will work in the Loons favour, we can only hope.

Minnesota United hosts their ninth home opener since joining MLS this Saturday at 7:30 against CF Montréal. This is only the fifth time the sides will meet in MLS and the first time the Impact will visit Allianz Field.
