2026 was a great season for the UW-Superior soccer teams. The Yellowjackets won both the UMAC men's and women's regular season titles. UWS enters the UMAC tournament as the heavy favourites to win the conference and advance to the NCAA tournaments. Should the Yellowjacket men fail to win the UMAC tournament, there is a chance they could make the national field as they are ranked #6 in Region IX. But if that happens to the women it will almost certainly be the end of their season.

Men's First Round Matches:
#1 UW-Superior vs #4 Crown - 4:30pm
UW-Superior, the only Division III school in the University of Wisconsin system to not play in the WIAC had a great regular season. 14-3-3 (W-D-L) overall and an unbeaten 11-1-0 record in conference play saw the 'Jackets top the UMAC. For the third time this season they'll face the Crown Polars, whom they have beaten a combined 6–1 in the previous two meetings. Crown has had a rocky season going 7-2-8 overall and just 5-1-6 in conference play. Crown did end the season on a four match winning streak, giving the Polars plenty of momentum heading into the playoffs. But the last time they visited Superior the Polars were thoroughly squashed 3–0 by UWS.
#2 Bethany Lutheran vs #3 Minnesota-Morris - 5pm
For the fifth straight season Bethany Lutheran finished right behind UW-Superior in the UMAC Men's soccer table. Bethany hasn't had a share of the regular season conference title since 2021 and has never won it outright. In the playoffs however the Vikings have never managed to get a UMAC Men's title. After a 12-2-6 (9-1-2, UMAC) season the test truly begins now as Bethany has the best shot of taking the long running playoff crown away from UWS. To do that they'll first need to go through the Minnesota-Morris Cougars, who went 11-2-5 (8-1-3, UMAC) and made the playoffs with ease. The two teams split the seasons series, with each of them earning a win on their home pitch.
UW-Superior men's soccer is ranked #6 in Region IX. For the full rankings you can check out our MIAC Moments weekly wrapup.

Women's First Round Matches:
#1 UW-Superior vs #4 Minnesota-Morris - 7pm
The only two public universities in the UMAC meet in the women's semi-finals with a shot at Saturday's Championship match on the line. UWS are the heavy favourites to win the match and move on in the UMAC tournament. The Yellowjackets went 10-4-5 (10-2-0) and won the regular season title by one point. Cougar women's soccer on the other hand had a rough season and just skated into the playoffs. A 5-1-10 (5-1-6, UMAC) record was just enough to get the Cougars into the playoffs by two points over Bethany. But UW-Superior beat Minnesota-Morris a combined 9–0 in their two regular season meetings.
#2 Northwestern (MN) vs #3 Martin Luther - 5pm
Like the other women's semi-final the 2 vs 3 match is just as skewed in favoured of the hosts. Northwestern-St. Paul Eagles had a 12-2-2 (10-1-1, UMAC) regular season and ended on a five match winning streak. Martin Luther on the other hand went just 5-3-4 with 18 points in the conference and 9-4-6 overall on the season. During their previous meetings the Eagles beat the Knights 6–0 in New Ulm and 5–0 in Roseville.
