After what feels like a second pre-season the Loons are back in action tomorrow night against Sporting Kansas City. The first match back in two months is the first in a long stretch of fixture congestion that will see Minnesota United play twice nearly every week through the end of August. The Loons next real break will not be until the fall international break happens.
That leaves a huge question of whether the squad's fitness is up to the task of a massive backlog of matches to close out the season. Wil Trapp commented that really only time can tell if the fitness is there. Many of the players on the squad have not played such a clustered schedule. Nor have we seen so many games in such a short period in the recent history of American soccer.
