After starting the season off with a tough loss and a tight draw, St. Thomas earned their first win of the 2026 season. Four goals on Thursday pushed the Tommies over the top of the Chicago State Cougars, giving the Tommies a 1-1-1 record after three matches. On Sunday UST headed to Charleston, IL for their first away match of the season against Eastern Illinois. St. Thomas came from behind to bring the match level and force a draw with the Panthers.

St. Thomas 4 – 1 Chicago State

With two matches each with a different result it was only natural that the Tommies third match of 2026 would be a different result again. And that it was with St. Thomas getting a massive 4–1 win over the visiting Chicago State Cougars. From the outset of the match it was St. Thomas who clearly looked like the better of the two sides. The Tommies ended the first half with ten shots and four on target, but no goals to show for their work. Head Coach Jon Lowery stated following the match that during halftime he made it known to his team to take a bit of extra time to get better quality shots.
