Coming off a rough loss to San Jose the week before, MNUFC2 headed off to Colorado for their final match of a very long season opening road swing. Aiming to rebound and get some revenge for their loss in the 2025 Playoffs, the Twoons did just that. After going down 1-0 late in the second half and a Colorado red card in the 50th minute, the Twos turned the match on it's head and came back to win 2-1
"There are a few teams like that in the league that we kind of feel that way going against... It's going to be a hard game," MNUFC2 head coach Fanendo Adi said before the match against Colorado. "They've got some really great athletes."
Early on MNUFC2 looked to be in control of the match snapping a few shots in the opening quarter-hour. The most promising of which were from Sam Vigilante and Marcus Caldeira, both of whom were unable to score early on. Colorado rebounded for a short time, but it was not enough to stifle the Twosies attack.
Thing started to look a bit chippy come the half hour mark with eight fouls and two yellow cards being handed out in just a five minute timespan. Those cards were handed to Colorado's Grant Gilmore and Minnesota's Luciano Pechota respectively. For all the early domination by Minnesota it would not be the Twoons getting the opening goal of the evening. That was Rapids 2 with a 41st minute strike by Josh Copeland that gave Colorado the lead heading into half time.
