As USL League Two passes the mid-season marker for 2026 the playoff race is starting to shape up. Every club in the Heartland has played at least six matches of their 12 match season, with more than half having played seven matches. This past week in USL2 was a bit of a cluster, with weather having impacts on matches in both Chicago and Minnesota. Ultimately resulting to two matches being postponed, though one has since been made up.
St. Croix took a shock win over the Dutch Lions on Wednesday pushing themselves to six points, before taking another win on Saturday and firmly pushing themselves into the bottom of the playoff race. Chicago Dutch Lions responded with a draw against River Light, followed by RLFC pummeling Edgewater Castle last night 7–1. That was the Rooks second loss on the week, having lost to RKC on Sunday.
