Minnesota United's hope of entering the knockout stages of Leagues Cup was ended on Friday night at the hands of Mexican side Tigres. The two clubs went to a draw through 90 minutes with the "hosts" Tigres UANL walking away with their second pk win of the tournament.
But now its time to check in on the supporters and see how they feel after the draw-loss and the Loons now being winless in 10 straight.
Well the Leagues Cup knockouts don't need to be worried about, but there is one more match. Hopefully Minnesota can break their winless streak in the final Leagues Cup contest and get a good start to the rest of the MLS campaign.
Tigres fans were fantastic the whole match without question. If the Leagues Cup does one thing extremely well, it's allowing US based fans of Liga MX to watch their clubs in person.
Unfortunately this is sadly true. For the Loons it was 3 points or bust to stay in contention for the knockouts. Sadly the hand came up bust for Minnesota.
Sports can be a fickle one, but at least the drinks were good.
I think we would all really like a win inside 90 minutes, but this one time we're okay with taking a team to the limits. Especially considering the fact that the team in question was only one of the best on the continent.
