Playing only their second match in the last three and half weeks, the Loons kick off what is set to be a vary busy next 30+ days. That stretch will include 7 league matches, three leagues cup matches, a friendly, and at least one Open Cup match. That packed month starts with re-match between Minnesota and Houston Dynamo. Prior to the match manager Eric Ramsey had some takeaways from their previous meetings:

“They play in a relatively consistent way… but of course it’ll be a different game for personnel on our side and on their side. We’re missing four [players], but we’re in good shape and we’ve got to try and put right.”

“Houston is always difficult to play so we need to make it difficult for them when they come here [at Allianz Field], said Michael Boxall. “Just have to get down to business tomorrow night and get back to picking up three points at home.” Boxy

Houston has also been tough away from home this season as well. While Dynamo sit in 11th with 5-8-5 (W-L-D, 20 points) they have only lost two matches away from home all season. The Dynamo have struggled as of recently going  1-3-1 in their last five and lost last two matches 3–1. Additionally 21 year old standout Jack McGlynn is out, as he is currently with USMNT at the Concacaf Gold Cup.

News & Notes

It’s the second and final edition of the Dylan Wolpers Derby for 2025. A single point tonight for Houston would give them the series for the second straight year.

MNUFC has not defeated Houston since July 2023, with the Loons last home win against Dynamo coming in May of 2023.

Minnesota United are still missing key pieces to international duty, including starting goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair. They’ll be out for the Gold Cup through at least this weekend and potentially through 06-July.
