Minnesota United faces off with St. Louis City after falling 2-0 to Houston Dynamo away from home just days ago. MNUFC had to heavily rotate their squad on Wednesday after thrashing Inter Miami 4-1 last weekend. The Loons were completely dominated by Dynamo at Shell Energy Stadium with the hosts managing 20 shots with six on target while the Loons only managed 7 total shots and just a single one on target. Pablo Ortiz scored in first half stoppage time to put Dynamo up 1-0 on what would be the game winner. Felipe Andrade doubled the hosts lead in the 77th minute to solidify their win and handing the Loons their second loss in five matches.
St. Louis City meanwhile have struggled so far in 2025. They come to Minnesota with a 2-6-5 (11 points) record through 13 matches, with their last win coming over Union Omaha (USL1) on 07-May in the US Open Cup. Their last MLS win came all the way back in March when they took down Seattle Sounders 1-0 in their home opener in St. Louis. Former German U21 international Marcel Hartel has been key to the team so far this season and has scored two goals, behind only Cedric Teuchert who has three.
