Minnesota United and MNUFC2 have a combined total of four players on loan across four teams, in three different leagues. Two players are currently on loan in the USL Championship, one on loan in Poland, and one player in Costa Rica. Here’s how all four of the players are doing as of the end of April

The most recent player sent on loan is Jordan Adebayo-Smith who was loaned to Detroit City FC (USLC), on 15-March for the 2025 season. Since being loaned out Adebayo-Smith has made six appearances and one start with Le Rouge, coming against Phoenix Rising. His last appearance came in Detroit’s win vs Rhode Island FC on 19-April, where he was subbed on in 63′. Through 199 minutes played the forward has no goals or assists in Detroit, and has played relatively average so far this year. Detroit’s next match is on 26-April against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds as part of the Jägermeister Cup group stage.

Alejandro Bran on the other hand has been on loan since last September, when he was sent to EFL League One side Burton Albion. After just four appearances with the Brewers, he was recalled on 5-January and immediately loaned out to L.D. Alajuelense in Costa Rica. Bran has made 16 appearances, making nine starts, and playing 909 minutes in his native Costa Rica. The midfielders started Alajuelense’s 1-1 draw to Deportivo Saprissa on 21-April where he played 81 minutes before being subbed off. Alajuelense next match in the Clausura stage of Liga FPD is on 27-April away to Puntarenas FC.

Defender Matúš Kmeť was acquired in August of 2024 from Slovakian top flight side AS Trenčín. After joining the Loons last August, Kmeť made no appearances with the first team but made three appearances with MNUFC2 in MLS Next Pro. In early February Kmeť was loaned out to Polish first division side Górnik Zabrze for the 2025 season, with an option to buy for Zabrze. Kmeť has made seven appearances in Poland and did not appear in their last match, a nil-nil draw with Stal Mielec on 22-Apr. Górnik Zabrze faces Widzew Łódź at home on 27-April in their 30th match of the Ekstraklasa campaign.

2025 Superdraft first round pick, midfielder Roman Torres signed with MNUFC2 on 06-March and was immediately loaned out to USL Championship side Birmingham Legion. The 23 year old has made seven appearances for the Legion, racking up five starts, and two assists in 429 minutes played so far this season. Last weekend on the 19th of April he was subbed on in the 79th minute during a 1-0 loss to Hartford Athletic. The Legion host USL League One side Chattanooga Red Wolves on 27-April as part of the Jägermeister Cup group stage in their next match.
