In this mini-tournament, we jump straight to the quarterfinals with clubs from a wide range of affiliated leagues competing to prove their chops as the best amateur side in Wisconsin. There's a reason there's no identifier by Madison United. We were unable to ascertain what their league is because their local landscape is shifting.
Green Bay Glory (MWPL) vs Union Des Bateaux FC (UPSL/WPASL)
First up, on Friday, we have the Glory, who moved on to the second round of the US Amateur Cup Region II qualifiers after their first-round match was forfeited. This match will be the last before they begin league play on the 25th. UdB, on the other hand, begins WPASL play tomorrow. They are 0-0-2 in the young UPSL season, where they finished sixth in their division last season.
Superior City FC (UPSL) vs Wisconsin Conquerors FC (NPSL)
Tuesday, May 19th, sees the Conquerors travel to Superior with both having begun play the preceding week. Last season, the Navy finished seventh in the Midwest West. WI Conquerors finished fifth in the Central States Conference.
RKC Third Coast (USL League Two) vs FC Milwaukee Torrent (NPSL)
Wednesday, May 20th, sees RKC about to start league play, with the Torrent already in by a week. The hosts lost a first-round match in the Amateur Cup against Chicago House. The Torrent finished second in the Central States Conference, and Third Coast finished third in the Heartland Conference.
Bavarian United SC (UPSL/MWPL) vs Madison United SC
Fri, June 5th sees the latest quarterfinal, with both teams underway. Bavarians are perennial challengers in any amateur-level tournament, whereas the visitors are very much an unknown commodity.
