#12 Missouri State Bears 3-3 #16 Kansas City Roos
Springfield, MO hosted a high-octane match between a Missouri State University side that had won every game they played so far this season and the 4-1-1 Roos from 3 hours North. Going into the game, the Bears led the all-time series 24-2-7 (W-D-L), but the last time the two schools met in the capital city, in 2024's postseason, the match went the way of the Roos, and so did the 2025 match between the two in Kansas City. The Bears kicked off ranked 9th in the nation for goal difference and began American Conference play with a 2-1 win over Florida International, but this was their first match against a ranked opponent this season. In contrast, the Roos have steadily risen up the national poll, with a series of highly placed opponents. Added to a draw against #3 Southern Methodist, their most recent game was a stunning 3-1 defeat of #10 Michigan State.
