undefined[uncode_info_box items="Date,Categories" separator="pipe"] Minnesota United hosted the Budesliga 2 side, FC Kaiserlautern, in an international friendly at Allianz Field. Terrence Boyd got the visitors off to a quick start but the Loons came back with two quick goals of their own later in the first half. The match was delayed shortly into the halftime break when lighting struck within 8 miles of Allianz Field. Another lighting strike occurred partly into the delay and the clock was reset for another 30 minutes per safety protocols. After the halt in action the Loons came out with a completely new team as a number of MNUFC2 players entered the game. Minnesota held out to retain their 2-1 lead and secure a win before hosting the Portland Timbers on Saturday July 1, 2023. [uncode_block id="219" inside_column="yes"]
