As first reported this morning by Andy Greder of the Pioneer Press and then confirmed by the club later this morning, Minnesota United has brought in Aziel "AZ" Jackson for the remainder of the 2026 season. Jackson previously played for the Loons during the 2021 and 2022 seasons, making just two appearances for the first team both coming in the US Open Cup. During his two seasons in Minnesota under then-manager Adrian Heath he spent most of his time on loan with North Carolina FC and playing with MNUFC2, led at that time by current first team manager Cameron Knowles.
“We welcome Aziel back to Minnesota United. He’s a talented player who gives us another option in attack as we enter an important stretch of the season," said MNUFC Sporting Director Khaled El-Ahmad. "His familiarity with the league, the club and Cameron should help him settle in quickly, and we look forward to his contributions.”
AZ comes back to Minnesota from Polish top flight side Jagiellonia Białystok after having spent part of the season on loan with fellow MLS side Vancouver Whitecaps. MNUFC has the ability to permanently bring Jackson in following the end of the season.
