A late match goal gave the Loons a single point to end the season opener. An early goal from Austin followed up by a yellow from Trapp and things were not looking so good for Minnesota. Before the end of the first half Morris Duggan scored tying the match, though Austin got that back in the 76th minute. Ultimately it was Kelvin Yeboah with the late goal to close out the match.
With a new coach comes a new style and formation and tonight was no different. Cameron Knowles sent out a 3-4-3 with Kelvin holding the central striker position with Joaquin Pereyra and Tomás Chancalay at the wings. Chancalay alongside Drake Callendar were the only new signees to make the matchday squad.

As the clock wound towards the 90th minute, it appeared that Minnesota would start the season with a tough loss in Texas. Instead Devin Padelford worked himself open on the far side and whipped a cross in that Kelvin Yeboah banged in with a header.
