Minnesota and Washington came into Thursday nights match at Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium on opposite trajectories. The Gophers had lost three on the bounce and four of their last five, including a 1–0 loss to Wisconsin in their last outing. The Huskies on the other hand entered with four wins on the trot and a 3-1-1 record in their last five, including a draw with #11 UCLA last Friday.

The first half of Thursday nights match was tightly contested with each side getting an even amount of shots. Though shots on target were extremely uneven as the Huskies put five shots on target and the Gophers none. Washington started the second half with a bang scoring just three minutes into the half. It took nearly 20 minutes, but the Gophers were able to answer back and force a draw with #12 Washington.

Minnesota Gopher head coach Erin Chastain retained much of her teams lineup from their match against Wisconsin last weekend. Only three changes were made for the maroon and gold with Katie Krohn, Hailee Christiensen, and Hannah Heinlein coming into the lineup. The trio replaced Ellen Neuharth, Emily Filbrun, and Ava Westlund in the eleven. Washington made no changes from their last outing, against the UCLA Bruins.
